Weekly Photo Challenge…Home

Home, Sweet Home

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam,
Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home;
A charm from the sky seems to hallow us there,
Which, seek through the world, is ne’er met with elsewhere.
Home, home, sweet, sweet home!
There’s no place like home, oh, there’s no place like home!

An exile from home, splendor dazzles in vain;
Oh, give me my lowly thatched cottage again!
The birds singing gayly, that come at my call —
Give me them — and the peace of mind, dearer than all!
Home, home, sweet, sweet home!
There’s no place like home, oh, there’s no place like home!

I gaze on the moon as I tread the drear wild,
And feel that my mother now thinks of her child,
As she looks on that moon from our own cottage door
Thro’ the woodbine, whose fragrance shall cheer me no more.
Home, home, sweet, sweet home!
There’s no place like home, oh, there’s no place like home!

How sweet ’tis to sit ‘neath a fond father’s smile,
And the caress of a mother to soothe and beguile!
Let others delight mid new pleasures to roam,
But give me, oh, give me, the pleasures of home.
Home, home, sweet, sweet home!
There’s no place like home, oh, there’s no place like home!

To thee I’ll return, overburdened with care;
The heart’s dearest solace will smile on me there;
No more from that cottage again will I roam;
Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home.
Home, home, sweet, sweet, home!
There’s no place like home, oh, there’s no place like home!

    Glad to see some of the changes you’ve made to the layout. 😀

    Jeanne I love wisteria and I love doves you made my day. I have a family of doves living in my backyard and I have caught several they are so full of peace and love. Thanks love ya

  5. Wish I could grow wisteria in my garden. Don’t think I get enough sun for it to flourish. So thanks for sharing yours. And doves? I don’t think I see many in our neck of the woods. I’d have to think. Hmmm… But again, thanks for sharing pictures of ones you have there.

    Love your blog layout. Always admire others’ blogs. Everyone is so creative. How did you manage a slide show on your other post? Still learning technical tricks, slowly, but surely.

    hugs for a wonderful week…hugmamma. 🙂

  6. Oops! Just noticed the slide show up above. Are you able to incorporate it because of the WordPress theme you’ve chosen? Very nice.

    like it lots…hugmamma. 😉

    • Here is what I know about the slideshow…shen you upload photos into your gallery for a post, scroll to the bottom and you wil see an option for a insert gallery or insert slideshow. Give it a go, you will be surprised at how easy it is. enJOY!

      • Thanks for the great tip! It’s great having blogging buddies with whom to share WordPress info. Have to admit this site offers great features to make us look professional. And I need all the help I can get. Couldn’t do the technical stuff on my own for sure.

        hugs for sharing…hugmamma. 🙂 By the way, do you know why smiley faces work on some blogs, and not others? Have tried using the symbols, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. A mystery to me. Probably a simple answer, which escapes moi. 😉
