I can watch a movie with a happy ending over and over again. Between FX and the Lifetime Channel, this weekend before Valentines Day, is filled with one happy ending after another.
Every story has a beginning, a middle and an end. Stories contain context, conflict, decisions and resolution. We get caught up in the story line of the movie…wanting to believe the best of each character in the movie. Cheering the hero and heroine along…We are always hoping for a wonderfully happy ending!
Our lives are own story line, our own movie…We head off in one direction with a plan in hand. Not long after heading out we hit a roadblock. The roadblock causes us to take a detour. The detour takes us down a long and winding road. The road is filled with valleys and mountain peaks. It takes us over bridges and through tunnels. All the while we can see our original path off in the distance. We continue to strive for some semblance of our original plan. At some point we realize that the detours and distractions have become part of life’s plan. Our new path is leading us to our own Happy Ending! Be the hero or heroine of your own life story! Choose a Happy Ending!

I like happy endings, too 🙂 I’ve seen a few of these movies, and many other romantic comedies (my favorite type of movie.) I think my all-time favorite; the one that halts my channel surfing, would have to be “While You Were Sleeping” with Sandra Bullock. (Sigh.)
I love a romantic comedy with a happy ending too, but sometimes I’m picky and I can’t quite put my finger on what makes it or breaks it for me. My absolute favorites are When Harry Met Sally and A Room With a View. Very different, both sooooo good!
But I didn’t like Sleepless in Seattle, so it’s tricky! Thanks for the inspiration, Jeanne!
Have to agree, the Holiday is the best of the list. Jude Law? Hello? Absolutely the cutest … I still love “Love Actually,” “Hitch,” and “When Harry met Sally.” Oh, and “You’ve got mail.”

Except for “Just Go With It,” I’ve seen all these. I would watch it with my wife and at the end of the movie, romance is in the air and the “feel good,” feeling brings a smile to our day. This movies makes me believe that love and all its joy can happen everyday…Beautiful post. Now, I’m psyche for Valentine’s Day. Wishing you all the love and happiness…
