Bluebonnets…

Bluebonnets…are as synonymous with Texas as Cowboy Boots and Stetson Hats!

The randomness of wildflowers in nature are more beautiful than any floral arrangement you could ever purchase.  There is no limit to the amount of time I could spend looking at natures canvas.

Driving through East Texas at this time of year will transport you to the gardens of Monet.  With inspiration like this there is no wonder he was inspired to paint such breathtaking works of art.

“You may be on the plains or the mountains or down where the sea breezes blow, but Bluebonnets are one of the prime factors that make the state the most beautiful land that we know.”  W. Lee O’Daniel

“The Bluebonnet is to Texas what the shamrock is to Ireland, the cherry blossom to Japan, the lily to France, the rose to England and the tulip to Holland.”  Jack Maguire

They are a beautiful blue – so vivid! We don’t get them here. 😦

How long do they last such a beautiful flower and happy looking.

  3. I absolutely love bluebonnets! I’ve been lucky to visit Texas Hill Country during the spring to see carpets of them. Simply amazing.

  4. You make this old Texas gal’s heart go pitter-pat! There is no other sight I miss about Texas more except some of the people who lived their lives there. I have often longed to take my family back there during this time of year just to show them what it’s like. There is not another sight more beautiful in all the earth, than a clear blue sky reflected back by a field of bluebonnets. And with the added glory of the Indian Paintbrush along with it! Thanks for the reminder!

  5. Beautiful flowers! Lovely post! Thank you for sharing such neat pics with us:)
