There is a quaint little town located on the Gulf Coast of Texas…The Town of Rockport was founded in 1867. George Fulton completed his mansion in 1877 (now a Historical landmark) in the community known as Fulton, next to Rockport. Other communities in Aransas County include: Holiday Beach (Lamar Peninsula); Spanish Village (Blackjack Peninsula); Estes and a portion of Arkansas Pass (Live Oak Peninsula).
The Rockport area offers a wide variety of activities for locals and visitors alike. You can enjoy browsing the many art galleries or the historical walking tour. There are whooping crane boat tours for the bird enthusiast. Rockport also offers bay or deep-sea fishing for the anglers. There is leisure boating through the canal communities or you can enjoy Il dolce far niente…the sweetness of doing nothing!
Our trip to Rockport was spent with good friends who treated us to a little canal cruising, our share of good food and a bit of sight seeing.

Do you know Texas?
No not at all.
I have never been to New Zealand, but I do have a cousin living in New Plymouth. Maybe I will get to visit her one day.
That would be cool. I have been in South Africa for over 50 years and now it is my third year in NZ!
It’s a nice place to stay holidays.
Yes..it is a nice place to stay anytime!
Lovely respite!
Nancy, it is a quick getaway…we are looking forward to getting back there soon!

Lots of great photos here, I didn’t know you can actually do this in wordpress, is there a separate plug-in required for this? Thanks for sharing.
I always wanted to visit Rockport. I heard from someone that it is beautiful. Now I get to see that it is through your eyes and lenses…thanks.
I see from your postings that you and your family enjoy the beach…Rockport doesn’t have a big beach but the atmosphere is very relaxing. It isn’t too far from our area. I think you should consider a trip to the area.
thank you for your Rockport slideshow!
