As we look forward to the new year and all of its possibilities we must pause for a moment and think on all that the past year was and wasn’t…Then it is time to say Goodbye! Although 2013 wasn’t the blogging year I had hoped for it was a great year overall.
So to kick off the year with a blogging bang I have decided to host my first blogging challenge. The 2014 52 Week Photo Challenge begins today with saying Goodbye to 2013. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your part of the world through your interpretation of the challenge prompts.
A sunset is the only goodbye I look forward to…each one is beautiful in its own way and entirely unique.
Saying goodbye to 2013…
Also be sure to use the #NolaGirl52weekchallenge so everyone who is playing along can follow you and see your photos.

Underwater + Hidden Treasure = Sunken Ship…
This is one of the many boats used by Mel Fisher and his team of treasure hunters..how apropos that one of his boats would find its end at the bottom of the ocean.
Wikipedia….Mel Fisher (August 21, 1922 – December 19, 1998) was an American treasure hunter best known for finding the 1622 wreck of the Spanish galleon Nuestra Señora de Atocha named after a shrine in Madrid for protection. He discovered the wreck July 20, 1985. The estimated $450 million cache recovered, known as “The Atocha Motherlode,” included 40 tons of gold and silver; there were some 114,000 of theSpanish silver coins known as “pieces of eight“, gold coins, Colombian emeralds, gold and silver artifacts, and 1000 silver ingots. Large as it was, this was only roughly half of the treasure that went down with the Atocha. The wealthiest part of the ship, the stern castle, is yet to be found.

Today is Earth Day…and this fuzzy little creature was waiting for me when I got home. Actually, I am not sure how long he has been hanging out…I discovered him 3 hours ago and he hasn’t moved an inch. I wonder what he’s up to?
Pistachio Gelato….Dreamy, creamy, salty, sweet, nutty richness! You will need to get your own cup because I’m not sharing!
For those of you who have been around for awhile you will remember this beauty…and for the rest of you I hope you enjoy our little yard visitor from a couple of summers ago.
