Happy Valentines Day…

DSC00928 I have been looking forward to making these for weeks.

Somehow Rice Krispie treats cut into heart shapes and dipped in white chocolate scream “I love you!”

I called our son and asked if wanted to come over and help me make Valentine treats.  When he told me his girlfriend loves rice krispie treats, I knew he would be here.

I gathered all of the ingredients;

1 Box of Rice Krispie Cereal
1 Pkg of  Miniature Marshmallows
Heart Shaped Cookie Cutters
White Chocolate
Cello Treat Bags
Valentine Stickers

I called him at least twice to confirm we were still on…I’m not exactly sure why I was so excited about making these simple treats…I think it may have had something to do with the fact that I have never made rice krispie treats in my life.

The heart-shaped treats were cut out, dipped in white chocolate, placed in cello bags and sweet Valentine love notes placed on each one.  I hope his girlfriend enjoys getting them as much as we enjoyed making them…

Cake in a Cup…

A cake in a cup…who figured this one out?  No more guilt from eating your way through an entire cake in a weekend.  Now you can have a piece of cake anytime…now that I think about it, this could be a bad thing.  A really bad thing.  a piece of cake only a minute away.

3-2-1 Cake.

This is a recipe for a single serving of cake baked in a coffee cup

Ingredients:

1 box of Angel Food Cake Mix
1 box of Cake Mix (any flavor)
1 gallon size Ziploc storage bag
1 small microwave safe dish or coffee cup
3 tablespoons of cake mix
2 tablespoons of water

Add the two boxes of cake mix together in a Ziploc storage bag.  Mix well.  Add 3 tablespoons of cake mix and 2 tablespoons of water to a microwave safe container.  Place container in the microwave for 1 minute.

Remove the cake from the cup…top with a dollop of whipped cream and a fresh strawberry or eat it plain.  I rather like plain cake.

I changed the original recipe…I doubled the recipe and cooked the mixture in the microwave for 1 minute 15 seconds.

Voila…

Cake in a Cup for One!
